DAY TWO AT SEA OFF BRAZIL - DAY 17

Our position at noon today is sailing now in the north Atlantic still off the coast of Brazil.  During the Captain's noon PA he said it is 81 degrees and we still have 350 miles to go before arriving at Devil's Island tomorrow morning.  We are experiencing 10 foot waves today and he said they are forecast to be the same tomorrow for our arrival.  As we are to anchor and use the tenders to go ashore he doubted if it would be safe for tendering.  He said there is a 99% chance that we will miss the port but he would make that decision when we arrived there.

LAST EVENING

When we entered the Meridian Lounge the London channel 4 film crew had 3 cameras rolling.  They were filming Nimesh and his bartending.  As we always sit at one end of the bar, we were also filmed.  They later asked if we minded being on tv and asked us to sign a release.  We're movie stars!!
At 7pm we met Gudrun for dinner in Prime 7.  We really enjoyed visiting with her and exchanging stories.
Budi was our sommelier.  He's a hoot!  We started with a bottle of Rombauer chardonnay which we had previously purchased.  I chose my usual "R" blend red wine.
I started with this French onion soup.  Yummy but very filling!  Rebecca had a crab cake.
Rebecca had this 6 oz filet.  As usual I asked our waiter, Kim, to bring our meat out before cooking so I could put Lawry's lemon pepper on both sides of them.  Gudrun was amazed.
I had the surf & turf.  They came and removed the lobster tail's shell for me.
Gudrun ordered parmesan French fries so I did too.  Very good.
Gudrun had this applewood smoked salmon.
After dinner they always bring these sweets.  We don't eat them.
Red velvet cheesecake for dessert.  Rebecca even had a few bites.
We finished dinner after 9:00 so I was later than normal getting into the theater.  We still got our front row seats.  This is the production company's "Diamond Run" a James Bond themed show.

Wish these photos had been better.  Only problem with the show was the sound was way too loud and gave me a headache.  I mentioned that to the sound booth guys on the way out of the theater after the show and also to Natalie, the cruise director.

TODAY

Last night and this morning we are still rocking some.  About same as yesterday but not too bad.
After another relaxing morning watching the news, we headed up to Prime 7 for lunch.  I had a chicken quesadilla to start with.
Then some panko coated fried shrimp and fries.
Not much to add to the blog today.  Just bobbing around in the ocean.  Getting a little rougher this afternoon.
We will be dining in Compass Rose this evening after our cocktail hour in the Meridian Lounge.  The show tonight is featuring the second show but the violinist, Inna Tolstova.  We will probably go but not sit on the front row.

HOMEWARD BOUND - MARCH 13TH

Our position is back in Miami.  End of our cruise. LAST EVENING                               ...
